It’s hard not to find a certain amount of irony in the description of the car, particularly the engine compartment. And who knew you could off-road a Corvair?

I can’t see anything wrong with a little trail running. No weight on the front wheels - probably no worse than a Beatle off-road other than a little more suspension wallow.

I didn’t mean to imply that there was anything wrong with it. It’s just not exactly a sales pitch you’ll see these days.

Ralph Nader, how could you not love that?

Other than Subaru, of course. On the false basis that you need AWD to get places, when what you really need is ground clearance and balance - both sorely missed in the day of the FWD econohatch. Back in the day, a high percent of gravel driveways and town not-quite-roads would absolutely make this a selling point for a “normal” RWD sedan.

“Easy handling”... “handling”... “Easy”.

You don’t even need power steering!

Good points, all.

Easy handling can be unsafe handling.

It’s so easy, it sometimes handles itself.
